4th Sunday of Lent

Parish message of the week,

  1. All Masses – daily and Sunday – continue to be suspended. There are copies of the prayers for a spiritual communion in the church – it you take one, please keep it with you; do not put it back with the other papers. Small pamphlets on “The Way of the Cross” are available at the front desk for those who wish.
  2. Our RCIA Class for those who will be baptized this year is still suspended but the class members are directed to a site for this week’s class.
  3. Given the restrictions on public gatherings and on the sacrament of Reconciliation and Confession in this Lent/Easter season, we remind everyone of the instructions from the Diocese:
  •  The faithful can avail themselves of various online services, such as daily Masses, formation programmes, Lenten works of penance and piety, as well as other spiritual exercises, such as daily morning prayer, Rosary and Angelus, by visiting Catholic information websites.
  •  While the Church encourages the faithful to go to confession during Lent in order to renew themselves, under the present circumstances, some members of the faithful might find it risky to go to confession.  They can rest assured, however, that a genuine desire for receiving the sacrament of reconciliation, together with prayers and works of penance and charity, fulfils the Lenten obligation of repentance.
